Série Títulos subtítulos e editoras- Maiana Nussbacher
Em grego, biblioteca significa “depósito de livros”, no entanto mais que um espaço físico destinado a
armazenar coleções de escritos, as bibliotecas guardam o conhecimento, a cultura, a história e a produção
científica das civilizações.
Colecionar livros é o que vem fazendo Maiana Nussbacher, suas pinturas da série “Títulos subtítulos e
editoras” apresentam a vista que temos ao buscar livros numa biblioteca. Os vemos em pé, e pelas laterais
podemos ler as informações que buscamos, no entanto, título e o autor não iremos encontrar nas pinturas
da artista. Seu interesse está além do conteúdo dos mesmos, está no campo pictórico de cores e formas que
estas justas posições formam.
Usando uma paleta de cores vibrantes, quentes e frias, sua pintura inclusive não revela à primeira vista que
se trata de livros, mas como geralmente são apresentadas como trípticos e polípticos a montagem do
trabalho remete imediatamente às prateleiras de uma biblioteca. A relação entre cor e forma apresenta
inequivocadamente a chave central nas pinturas da artista, o desenho inicial, traçado a partir da observação
das bibliotecas, estrutura e dá forma às composições. As sensações de planaridade e profundidade se
alternam, jogando com a percepção do espectador, abalando suas certezas.
Com alta carga de intensidade em sua produção, Maiana coleciona livros de um colorido difuso, de formas
que gravitam entre a composição abstrata e a sugestão de uma figuração, traça aí, um diálogo com Volpi e
Paul Klee. Obras que indicam, na fatura a um só tempo despojada e cuidadosa que transparece ainda em sua
pintura um componente onde o olhar se perde e não se fixa.

Maiana Nussbacher Titles, Subtitles and Publisher Series
In Greek, library means “ books deposit”, however, libraries are more than a physical
space to warehouse writing collections, they preserve the knowledge, the culture, the history
and the scientific production civilizations.
Maiana Nussbacher has been garnering books in her paintings called the series of
Titles, Subtitles and Publishers. They depict what we see when we look for books in a library.
We can see them stored vertically in the upright position or horizontally on their sides. Her
interests are beyond its contents, it is in the pictorial camp of colors and shapes that those
juxtapositions are made. The vibrant collor pallete, warm and cold of her paintings don ́t
reveal that they are about books at a first glance, but as they are usually presented in diptych,
triptych and also on the work assembly, they immediately evoke book shelves of a library.
The relation between colors and patterns shows the central key in the paintings of the
artist. The initial drawing designed upon the observation of the library, structures and forms
the composition. The plane fillings and thoroughness are switching, playing with the viewer
perception, shaking its assurances. With a great burden of intensity in her production, Maiana
collects books in a diffuse colorful way, with patterns that gravitate between the abstract
composition and the suggestion of a figure, her work has a dialog with Volpi and Paul Klee.
